Helping Hands is aware that the quality of our service is directly related to the proficiency of our caregivers. We strive to give our clients and their families’ peace of mind, in knowing that their loved one is looked after properly. This is why all of our caregivers go through a rigorous screening process.
Before an aid is even considered for employment, Helping Hands first performs a criminal background check, reference check, and license verification. Next, all caregivers must complete a competency curriculum, which includes an exam, to verify that the individual is aware of proper policies & procedures. Finally, in order to give our clients and their families the utmost security, Helping Hands Fully Insures & Bonds all of our caregivers.
Once Helping Hands completes the screening process, the caregivers are supervised and monitored by one of our registered nurses. The registered nurse will educate the caregiver on the specific circumstances and medical issues with the client, to ensure the caregiver knows just how to handle each individual circumstance. In addition, all caregivers must take part in our ongoing “In Service” program.
The “In Service” program is administered multiple times per year, again under the direction of a registered nurse, to provide our caregivers with continued education in the homecare field. All caregivers must then pass an exam on what they have learned to guarantee they comprehend the material taught to them.
Helping Hands instills in its caregivers the need for respect, compassion, initiative, and follow-through to get the job done properly when caring for our clients. We respect our clients’ home and wishes. Everything Helping Hands and its caregivers do will be with that in mind.
